In May of 2015 Tim was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma which had metastasized to his spine. With his courage, strength, and character as well as a dynamic treatment team and the latest in medical technology, Tim is now in sustained remission having completed stem cell transplants in June 2020. During the early years of chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments Tim asked his charge nurse why everyone looked so tired and sad. Her response hit close to home. “All these medications take a lot out of people and the people who care for them.” Knowing and understanding this first hand, Tim asked his wife what he could do. “Write some sweet music for healing the soul, and hand it out.”

Two weeks later, Tim had composed 10 pieces each 20 minutes long with Tibetan Bells, wind sounds, raindrops, and soft music to help people relax and maybe even sleep during the hours of treatment. He made 25 CD’s and anonymously left them on the counter for anyone to take with them. The next week, there were none left. The nurses knew it was him, and when he was having his treatment, they told him of some of the responses including staff that had used the music to relax, contemplate, and meditate.

To that end, Tim and his wife filed for non-profit status to make OHMsound.org a place to go for music to help people feel better. These pieces, and more to come, are free of charge to anyone who might find them a respite from the stresses of any medical treatment and to care givers who may also need a bit of time to relax. Donations to help cover costs are appreciated but not necessary.

Crib Riffs

Originally a family activity inspired by his son Noah to get the grandchildren to sleep, the two collaborated to come up with songs that could fit into a lullaby format and not just for the kids but for the parents as well. To that end, Woodstock Nation was first in line followed by British Invasion, Super Hero Themes, and TV Themes we all know and love. Each genre has 12 popular songs turned into melodic sleepy music designed to appeal to anyone who would like a good nights rest.
